Terry Sidwell, Treasurer

As your current VOCA Treasurer and Board member, I have been involved in working with the VOCA team to bring about more timely and open forums to the association. As a result of my input over the last three years, the Board accomplished the following; revised written association policies, recruited new members, improved golf course conditions and achieved sound financial controls. Therefore, during the next three years, I will continue to support this format. Also, my managerial experience in banking enabled me to coordinate a team of dedicated financial VOCA members to provide timely, complete and accurate financial reports, maintain adequate reserves, implement controlled spending budgets and provide annual financial reports without any significant audit deficiencies.

My education background encompasses a Master’s degree in banking from the University of Washington, Pacific Coast Banking School in 1984, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Arizona State University in 1964.

My occupation of twenty nine years was centered in Banking. As Vice President and Manager, my key business resolutions were to strive for open and timely communication, set standards for professional business conduct, and evaluate staff based on goals and performance. After retiring from banking, I owned and managed a franchised finance business for six years. This successful business was sold and allowed me to retire.

During my residence in Southern California and following two years of retirement, I was recruited by Penske Truck Leasing and was hired as a Senior Credit Analyst to package truck fleet leases for many Fortune 500 companies. Also, at that time, I served on two separate homeowners’ association boards.  The duties included managing the operation of the associations, establishing the working format for committees, working up the evaluation process to determine the proper reserve funds for major assets and monitoring and investing cash reserves.

My wife Gerrie and I have been VOCA members since 1988.  During that time we enjoyed yearly vacations to Sedona. We became permanent Sedona residents January, 2004.

As VOCA Treasurer, I look forward to being a part of the Board team that works to carry out the will of the people, with fair and open policies for the benefit of all in the community.
